well i've been tracking all the evloution of vista, and it's been quite pleasant for me,microsoft has put almost every feature i wanted into vista,my problem is that i can't test it on my machine, because my pc is too old to handle it,i was wondering if this has been added yet:
- I've been thinking about a "restore my services to installation default" button, hey i have this problem in XP,i start disabling services to gain performance and sometimes some applications stop working, and for worse i don't know how to make them work back because i don't remember what service i disabled to break that app.this feature could mean alot for me in vista,if it isn't there, please add it.
- EFI support? i was wondering if it will be added to vista
- Download manager for Internet explorer 7 beta please!
Thank you very much! :)

What happened to these features?

This one has been confirmed as not being in 7.... Start campaigning for version 8 though.

- I've been thinking about a "restore my services to installation default" Its there, Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Restore. But specifically for Restoring default Services Configuration, that would be a good idea, I will submit a suggestion.
- EFI support? i was wondering if it will be added to vista This has been scrapped because not many vendors are currently supporting in their systems. So it will only be a feature of Longhorn Server 64-bit.
- Download manager for Internet explorer 7 beta please! Yep, not gonna happen in this release for sure, but it is being considered for future releases. -- Andre Extended64 | http://www.extended64.com Blog | http://www.extended64.com/blogs/andre http://spaces.msn.com/members/adacosta "Eduardo Valencia" wrote in message

Andre da costa thank you very much
Submitting the suggestion about restoring service to installation defaults could be quite handy noy only for me but for many people out there who doesen't explain strange app behaviors
Thank you very much
About internet explorer download manager,u bet i'll make a huge campaign to make it possible for further build releases, but i hope it's not 8 because it's too far from here.
Thank you very much

Here is a direct quote on the UEFI matter: "For Microsoft, support for UEFI means rigorous testing on a wide-ranging mix of UEFI implementations and hardware platforms. As we learned when the industry shifted to ACPI with Windows 2000, every major PC or server manufacturer has its own firmware implementation for its own unique hardware. Therefore, we can't test just one implementation on one type of hardware. But to date, no production-ready UEFI implementations are available. So Windows teams cannot complete the appropriate testing before Windows Vista is released. By the time Windows Server Longhorn is released, we expect sufficient UEFI implementations to be available for testing with a solid set of manufacturers' hardware platforms.
Microsoft is working closely with the Unified EFI Forum and industry partners to ensure that we can provide a high-quality, standards-based EFI solution that works across x86 and x64 hardware. As part of this effort, Microsoft is providing a "technology preview" of EFI in the Windows Vista Beta 2 release. This preview will allow our partners to begin testing their UEFI implementations."

EFI will be supported on 64-bit machines. Nobody has plans to implement 32-bit EFI. Support begins on longhorn server, then it will be rolled into Vista through a service pack.
